Experience
I am a tutor with a variety of educational skills, and a focus on bringing difficult courses to a level that is easy to understand. The approach I take to tutoring is that of iteration, eliminating overly complicated terminology, and using familiar concepts to teach the subject material. While I tutor many different subjects, the majority of my time is spent in the fields of science (organic chemistry and physiology) and mathematics. I have been tutoring for over two years now, and I have found immense passion and fulfillment helping students learn and better themselves and their academic careers. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, specializing in functional imaging. The study of learning and memory goes hand in hand with my love of tutoring, and seemed the obvious path to take. When I am not in school or tutoring, I play sports, including lacrosse, rugby, and ultimate Frisbee. I play lacrosse in a men's club, and I also coach for two teams at the middle school and high school level. I also enjoy long boarding and training for bicycle races, specifically the Tour de Tucson.
